SOOOO MUCH LOVE!!
Technically, this was Kendall's second Valentine's Day, but I don't think she really got much out of it last year at 6 weeks of age. This year was jam packed full of hugs, kisses and hearts! Here she is surrounded by Valentine cards and presents.
Here's Kendall opening the ball popper toy from Nana and Saba (and yes, for some reason, the television remote was necessary for the task.) This toy has been a coveted toy for a while and is a definite new favorite. And just what we need ... more balls for the fur kids to covet!
And I just have to show off the gorgeous bouquet of roses and lilies from my sweet husband! We celebrated a combo Valentines Day/2nd Wedding Anniversary the weekend before both events with a wonderful evening out. This year was much more fun since we didn't have a 5 week old baby at home needing her parents back within a few hours and non-alcoholic milk from mommy! :)
Cabin Fever?
The snow was very pretty, but neither the fur kids or the skin kid particularly wanted to be out in it! The boxers pranced around the back yard like Lipizzaner horses trying to keep their feet out of the cold wet stuff and Kendall looked at me like I was thoroughly out of my mind when I offered to let her touch it. The fur kids are, however, thoroughly enjoying the mud pit that has become my back yard due to the great Dallas thaw of 2010. I got some pictures of Kendall in the snow on a plastic rain poncho - she thought it was hilarious that her little bum sank down in it. For the vast majority of the time the snow was on the ground, the preferred method of winter weather enjoyment is illustrated by this picture:
Here is Kendall "planted" in the snow!
It also appears that the snow affected a certain Daddy's brain in odd ways. This is why I feel like I already have two children and therefore do not need another!

SNOW DAY!!!
Locating old snow gear for myself: 20 minutes
Putting together makeshift snowgear for a 1 year old who lives in Texas, and therefore has no reason to own real snowgear: 20 minutes
Putting (and keeping) snowgear on screaming 1 year old who would prefer to go outside naked and diaper-less: Another 20 minutes
The image of my daughter catching a snowflake on her tongue for the very first time: Timeless

Quick Update
Kendall went to her friend Griffin's first birthday party up in Frisco (or "the North Pole" as her father called it.) It was a great time and she had her very first pony ride! It was so cold, though, that they just walked the pony around the garage. While all of the other kids cried, mine laughed and squealed with delight! We are working on the phrase "Daddy, I need a pony." So far all we get is "ish" and "woof."
Standing at the top of the stairs and testing the stability of the baby gate is one of Kendall's new favorite pasttimes. I check the screws on that thing daily.
Here she is clearly contemplating climbing the baby gate ...
