I'm a MODEL ...

Just look at this face!! I seriously think she could use an agent. Perhaps her talents can pay for her diapers?

Apparently this is how ALL the cool toddlers are wearing their jammies these days ....

SI Swimsuit issue, prepare yourself for your next centerfold! And, yes, she is walking around the house making weird buzzing/spitting noises with her mouth.
I still really want to take a bite out of her little hamhocks and it saddens me that they are starting to lose some of their rolls and dimples. :(
At least she was appropriately dressed for her latest obsession. Who needs a water table when you have dog water bowls?

The Children's Museum from a Whole New Perspective!

Now that Kendall can WALK (and she got really good really FAST!), the Dallas Children's Museum is a whole new world! Goodbye to the padded baby room with the boring baby toys. Goodbye to my days of being relatively certain as to the whereabouts of my child should I choose to spend 2 seconds looking at something other than said child.

Hello firetruck and slide (which seems to be as much fun to go UP as it is to go down).

Hello water table!
Hello BIG duck!
"You're comin' with me, Duckie!"
"Oooh, what's that over there?"
"Bye Bye Duckie. Onward and upward!"
She's just a Broadway baby ... I have to say that this picture of her in the "dressing room mirror" gives me a very exciting glimpse into my potential future as a "stage mom!" What Broadway shows need kids these days? Must find an agent!

Mother's Day 2010

My Mother's Day gift this year is a new back. I desperately need a new back. My old back has been severely damaged by carting around a 16 month old, 25 pound toddler who only very recently has felt any desire whatsoever to TODDLE! (I am trying to get a video of the "toddle" uploaded for the blog but so far have been unsuccessful). Anyhow, I now have a year long membership to Massage Envy so I will be forced to have at least one massage a month. I will be scheduling my first one ASAP!

In hindsight, LAST YEAR may have been a better year to take my child to a nice restaurant for a Mother's Day brunch. Also in hindsight, I definitely should have taken more advantage of her infant ability to sleep in public! But given her age, and recent ability to WALK, she did very well at Preston's this year. This was an extremely nice brunch buffet with everything from eggs benedict with prime beef tenderloin to french toast, to honey jalapeno codfish, to brie and truffle mac & cheese. And the fruits ... and the pastries ... and the desserts ... I think even Kendall appreciated the spread! The kid can EAT. She had french toast, ham and cheese, caramel baked apples, fish, bacon, bagels, potatoes, muffins, fruit, and what truly may have been an entire watermelon. She ate for a good 45 minutes, barely coming up for air. Then she was "ished" and required someone to walk around with her so she could entertain the other guests with her little drunken sailor walk and captivating smile. Thankfully, her daddy stepped up for that job so her mommy could continue to eat enough food to potentially save a small country from famine. Saba and Nana joined us but Grandmother and Pops had to miss this one. We missed them!

Kendall decided that the table was an appropriate place to unload my purse. And to brush her hair. Not sure where she ever would have picked up that habit ...

Nana, Kendall and Mommy

I think she was in a "food coma" on the way home. I know I was.

After a nice looooong nap, we joined about 3/4 of the population of Dallas at the kids play area at the Galleria Mall. It was chaos. Kendall seemed to enjoy the blur of children traveling at 90 miles an hour around her, but it made me a bit nervous that she might get flattened. In the end, she managed to maintain her 3 dimensional shape and had fun despite her hovering mother. Here are some pics. She is quite the climber and has NO fear (which does not help my inclination to hover!)

How big is Kendall? SOOOO BIG ... especially on top of the super cool rock formation!
And here is the best Mother's Day gift of all: The honor of being the mother to the best, cutest, sweetest, most amazing little person I have ever known!

Family Pictures

We are planning to have professional family pictures done in the very near future, but for now, here are a few unprofessional pictures of our rapidly growing little monkey and her adoring parents!

Here she is reading about Peter Rabbit at the Arboretum.

And here she is deciding that the flowers next to the Peter Rabbit house look rather tasty.

Daddy joined us at the Arboretum!

And here are some rare pictures of Kendall with Mommy (who is typically behind the camera!)

Kendall is the new official "keeper" of my (face-free) childhood bear, "Bo Bear." She sleeps with him every night and wants to hold him whenever she needs comforting. It warms my heart that she loves him as much as I do!

Peter Rabbit at the Arboretum

My mom, Kendall and I met up with some friends from Kendall's playgroup at the Dallas Arboretum yesterday to meet THE Peter Rabbit! We bought some Beatrix Potter books, had our picture taken with Peter (who, for some odd reason is not nearly as scary as the Easter Bunny or Santa), and had our books signed. Then we spent some time in the really well done Peter Rabbit themed area at the Arboretum and took some cute pics. Here are the pics!

They have these beautiful "houses" in the Peter Rabbit area covered in vines and flowers. This particular one had a mama duck and some baby (adolescent?) ducks in it.

This particular house was not occupied with ducks so we went in and took some pictures.

Here is Kendall sitting at the table with her boyfriend, Sean.

And here is Kendall with her boyfriend, Sean, and her OTHER boyfriend, Jack.

I don't know if it's a girl thing or what, but Kendall was FAR nosier than either Sean or Jack. They just wanted to run around. Kendall had to look into anything and everything that looked like she might not be allowed to touch it!

Such a little lady!
