KENDALL'S FIRST TRIP TO TUCSON!!

Kendall Jane - So happy and FULL of things to say!!!

Only 4.5 months old ....and already an expert air travelor!! Kendall's 3rd and 4th airplane rides were every bit as noneventful as her 1st and 2nd. Well, other than kicking Mommy's glass of wine over into Nana's lap. But we all found that to be pretty funny! She is MUCH more vocal these days so I was a bit concerned, but the only noises she made were happy noises when she was carrying on conversations with either Freddie the Firefly or random passengers.

Mom and I decided that "vacationing" with Kendall is not exactly relaxing (in any way, shape or form) but is definitely rewarding. The kid is just a rock. She was unaffected by pretty much everything, including the flights, the time change, the chaos, the outings, her first swim, the chickens, the abundance of attention, and playtime with her second cousin, Izzy (who Kendall absolutely adored!) She slept well, she ate well, she played well, and she smiled a lot! She was fascinated by Izzy, who was very sweet to share her things AND gave Kendall a present - her very first baby doll (Izzy is apparently almost as enamored with baby dolls as she is with cupcakes).

Girls' Night Out with Nana, Aunt/Cousin Candice, First Stacy, Auntie M and Cousin Izzy. And YUMMY Gelato!
The Nanae (we decided that was the plural of "Nana") and their baby girls' baby girls!
Kendall and Izzy dancing.

Kendall did get to take her first dip in a pool when we visited my cousins Kevin and Candice's pool (Auntie M's pool was a bit too chilly). She didn't cry. Or laugh. Or really react at all! I suppose that's a good start. And she looked just precious ...which is most important when you're at a pool!

She also met her first chicken and promptly grabbed a handful of feathers. Can't remember which chicken this was, but it was awfully kind to refrain from pecking the child who was attempting to pluck it.

Thank you to the Tucson clan for hosting us last weekend! We hope to be back soon ....maybe when the next cold front hits and the temperature dips back below 100 degrees! :-)

Daddy missed us terribly and occupied his time during our absence with the huge project of extracting our house from the jumangi vines that were swallowing it. It was a happy homecoming for us all and Kendall (even though it was almost midnight) talked and talked and talked to Daddy, telling him ALL about her trip, before she reluctantly went back to sleep.

I seriously should not ever have another kid. There is just no way I'd luck out and have another one who is this perfect!

Ready for some Fun in the Sun!!

Kendall, Mom and I are heading to Tucson tomorrow for a long weekend to visit family. It's 100 degrees out there so we really hope Kendall can go swimming in Auntie M's pool! If that occurs, any pictures taken and posted will NOT include Mommy in a bathing suit. All attention should be on Kendall's little fat rolls, which are vastly more adorable than those still on my person!

My First Mother's Day!

I had an absolutely wonderful first Mother's Day! First, my sweet husband let me sleep 'til 10:00 which was nothing short of heaven. - Insert heavy sigh here - I barely even remember the days where I would never in a million years have scheduled a class prior to the noon hour because getting out of bed ANY earlier than 11:30AM was just not happening. Then my sweet husband made me pancakes and bacon for brunch. Then my sweet husband programmed my new digital frame that my darling baby gave me (because my technical abilities came to a screeching halt with the plugging in of the seemingly complex apparatus). Then my wonderful mom, Kendall's "BNE" (Best Nana Ever) came over for a delicious honey baked ham late lunch/early dinner where I proceeded to inhale carbs with wild abandon under the theory of "there is no point falling off the wagon if one isn't going to wallow in the mud for a while!" Then my sweet husband took my darling (screaming) baby to the grocery store with him so I had a whole hour at home alone (well, at least alone as far as human company goes)! I have a feeling that Chris' "I LOVE taking Kendall on errands with me" days are over. And all because of one little public, ear splitting, decible defying, screechfest. Sheesh!

Big THANK YOU to Chris for making my first Mother's Day so special and, of course, to my mom for being the BME (Best Mom Ever)!

"See Nana, I told you that fluffing my dress around my Bumbo would NOT make me look thin!

Kendall and the "Book-End Boxers"

Ginger and Ralphie frequently appear to be book-ends on the couch holding up some invisible item. That space was just begging to have a baby placed there so Chris obliged!

Kendall: "Gingey, I need a kiss."

Ginger: "Really, kid? I was just gettin' comfy ...."

".....oh, ok ...but only 'cause you're so cute!"

Kendall: "I LOVE Ginger!"

Note: Ralphie's position changed not at all during the progression of these photos. I think he really does have great aspirations of becoming an inanimate object.

Visit from Brett and Brandy!

Chris's childhood friend, Brett, and Brett's saint of a girlfriend, Brandy, came over to hang out with Kendall for a bit Saturday night. Kendall was all smiles and thoroughly enjoyed her visitors ....and I don't believe for 1/2 a second that Brett "isn't a kid person!" :-)

Hangin' with the guys!

Anyone who knows Brett at all will realize how utterly adorable this picture is!

Kendall finally meets Aunt Brandy!!

I'm a BIG girl now!

Look what I can do!

I can now sit in my Bumbo seat and watch TV with Daddy!

And I can play in my jumperoo (which makes new and exciting noise ...errr, music ... to get stuck in Mommy's head all day long!)

I LOVE my bathtime and especially looking at myself all bundled up in the mirror! I really love looking at myself in the mirror!

I'm still NOT a fan of tummy time, but Nana endures my screaming when we practice every day and it's paying off - just look at my head control!

All that playing makes for a very tired baby at the end of the day! Here's a picture of the girls of the house (Kendall, Mommy and Ginger).
