... these pictures may disturb you! Here are some cute (but not good quality) pictures I took with my phone this morning at Kendall's dance recital photo session.

Kendall and Daddy's "wedding cake"
Yesterday, Kendall requested another baking project with Daddy. I love that she has finally figured out that Mommy doesn't bake and has completely stopped asking me to do so. This time, she requested a "pink cake with blue frosting and yellow sprinkles." She got it! Note that the white uniform is back. The red wings were yesterday's accessory of choice.
After dinner, the pink cake came out of the oven and it was time to make frosting (the wings were shed for dinner). At the time this picture was taken, Chris was getting somewhat frustrated with his assistant who, right on cue, said, "Daddy, I LOVE baking with you! You're the best baker EVER and this is our wedding cake!" Then she leaned in for a hug and kiss. Damn, the kid's good!
She wound up putting yellow and blue sprinkles on the cake. The frosting, despite Kendall's attempts to the contrary, turned out a pretty light blue instead of something I feared would turn our teeth blue for the rest of the weekend.
And the finishing touch was her 3rd birthday candle (that no longer lights so we had to pretend to blow out the "wedding candle").
The cake was sooooo sweet I could barely eat it. It was even too sweet for Chris and I never thought I'd see something too sweet for him. But not for this girl who must have 20 sweet teeth in that mouth!

Portraits of Mommy and Daddy!
Kendall kept asking me odd questions while I was cooking dinner the other night, like what color are my eyes ... what color is my hair (pretty sure no one but the girl who colors my hair knows what color it really is anymore) ... and "what else do you have on you, Mommy?" I finally figured out that she was drawing ME! She did a pretty darn good job, too! Despite the fact that I look a bit like a zombie (due to a recent allergies plague, I really do kind of look like this!), it's my favorite picture of myself! (my nose was added after this picture was taken when she realized she'd left it out ... and it's not even insultingly big!)
I had no idea she was able to draw people but I suspect that she's been drawing people for a while at school now and I just didn't know it ... kind of like how she was potty trained at school for a month before she felt the need to use a potty at home.

My replacement??
Conversation this morning:
Kendall: "Mommy! I need ....."
Me: "What Sweet Pea? I can't hear you."
Kendall: "MOMMY! I'm not talking to YOU and you're interrupting!"
Me: "I'm sorry. I thought I heard you say 'Mommy.'"
Kendall: "I did. But I was talking to this Mommy!" (pointing at air)
I wonder if her imaginary Mommy would like to start pitching in with some childcare, house cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc?

Great shots!
I have a couple of wonderful friends who are currently taking a photography class. What does this mean for me? It means I get fabulous pictures of my kid ... for free! Thanks Kathryn! :)

The Uniform REPLACEMENT???
Despite the fact that this dress is an actual Disney princess dress (gag), I actually like it better than the previous uniform that does not fit her and is rapidly falling apart.

All together now ... "Awwww!"
All day long Kendall has been spreading various blankets out all over the playroom floor to have "slumber parties with her friends." And all day long Kendall has been yelling at Ginger to get off the blankets. And all day long the poor dog continued to hold out the hope that the next blanket just might be for her. Finally, after her bath, Kendall laid down a blanket for herself, then got a sleeping bag out of the closet, laid it down, and called Ginger over to it. Ginger promptly made herself comfortable and (as if this wasn't sweet enough), Kendall grabbed a book, sat down next to Ginger and "read" her a story! The story was about dinosaurs and at the end, Ginger was asked if she was sad that the dinosaurs are now extinct. I'm sure Ginger is all broken up about that fact, but I know she was ecstatic that her little girl finally paid some attention to her!
"The Uniform" ... part 2
At Grandmother and Pops' house:
In Canine Commissary buying dog food:
At a play date with her boyfriends, Jackson (shown below) and Sean (not pictured here):
She is wearing it nearly all day every day now. I'm having to hand wash it a lot. My dislike of laundering clothes by hand, coupled with the fact that she has no patience whatsoever for the fact that it takes time to dry, means that the ultimate demise of this "item of clothing" is looking more and more imminent ...
Wish I had stock in Disney ...
This is a small "sampling" of Kendall's "hi hi" collection. I think it's most of her stuffed animals, but her full Disney collection is probably a good 3 times this size if the smaller "friends" were included, as well as the puzzles, clubhouse set, books, clothes, jewelry, dress up clothes, towels, pillows, blankets, backpacks, purses, ears, hats, etc. I have lofty ambitions of one day gathering together ALL of her Disney stuff for one giant picture, but I'm honestly a little afraid of the length of time it would take me to do this (especially if Kendall is home) .... and even more afraid of being prohibited from putting all of it away after the picture!
(can you find the kid in this picture?)

Easter 2012
The basket:
The coveted "DreamLite":
The fur kids' basket:
The excitement!
("there's no place like home...")
The egg hunt:
I'd like to say that Kendall did this to her daddy, and he'll deny it to his grave, but he did this to himself!
Oh. My. Gosh. Is this kid into "lipstick!" Fortunately, she still thinks chapstick qualifies as lipstick because she literally coats the lower half of her head with the stuff!
The Chocolate Bunny breakfast!
Nana and Saza arrived with more presents just in time. Kendall had already started getting bored with the presents from her parents and the Easter Bunny and was requestion to either paint or play with play dough. Neither of these things appealed much to me since I'd been sick the past 4 days, had gotten little to no sleep and really didn't want to sit watching helplessly while my house became even more destroyed!
The coveted "guitar with strings!"
She immediately launched into a song she's learned at school from her Shabbat (and possibly Havdallah) assemblies, "H'ine ma tov." I had no idea she knew all the words, but she sure does!
The show (note the outfit)!
The audience!
Following short naps for both Kendall and myself (short for Kendall because of the sugar coursing through her veins and short for me because of a thunderstorm that caused the terrified dog sleeping next to me to vibrate my bed), we all went to Grandmother and Pops' house for a lovely Easter dinner. Kendall got to play with Mason and Maya and had an absolute blast putting on music shows with Maya! Oh, and yes, my child is back in her "uniform" for Easter dinner. Her cute little Easter sweater dress lasted less than 5 minutes after we walked in the door, then the princess dress appeared from her backpack, clothes were shed, and the uniform donned. *sigh*
After a brief stint sharing the piano with her cousin, the guitar appeared from the backpack. It's hard to say which little girl was bossier. Fortunately, they didn't tell each other what to do but rather focused their energy telling the adults where to sit, when pictures could be taken, when to be quiet, and when to applaud.
This may be my favorite picture of the day. All of the guests of the male persuasion (with the possible exception of Mason) were fairly preoccupied with the Masters tournament and the timing of dinner was planned more around nap and church schedules as opposed to golf watching schedules - the nerve! ;) (I have no idea why the picture on the television screen didn't show up on the picture from my camera - the TV was most assuredly on ... although it is kind of funny to think that these two were staring at a blank television!)
