Eeny, Meenie, Miney, Moe, and TOE!

Introducing the 5 newest members of the family!  All five "callepittars" turned into butterflies and have been named by Kendall.  No one actually witnessed a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, but they all emerged within a day.  We'll keep them a couple more days and then set them free.

Taking pictures is proving difficult, but they're all there.  Maybe Kendall will get some good shots!

Last day of school and last day at JCC!

I still can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that today was Kendall's last day of school at the JCC.  She's been there since she was barely two, barely had hair, and was in diapers.  Here are pics from her first day of school in February 2011:

And here are pics from her last day of school taken today.  Her class had a "costume day" and pizza party.

Yes, I cried at Havdallah.

And again when I looked at the picture book Michelle gave our family as a gift.  And again when Kendall unwrapped the gift Michelle gave her.  (She must've been asking Michelle for a water bottle as much as she's been asking me!)

Here are a few pics from her last week.  She still doesn't really "get" that she's not going back.  I'm going to go have a glass of wine now to help me try to "un-get" it.  Today was hard on me!  And only after 2.5 years.  If today is to be used as a gauge and if she spends 6 years at Lamplighter, I may be inconsolable when she leaves that school!

Mother's Day 2013

Even though Mother's Day this year was a bit "marred" by a puking kid (resulting in a canceled dinner with Grandmother and Pops) and continued canine seizure-like episodes (still don't know what's wrong with Rehnny), it was a nice day at home with the family.  AND Kendall and I both slept in 'til after 9!

At school, Kendall made me a beautiful candle, baggy with hershey kisses in it, and a beautiful purse ....

... that contained a beautiful poem that made me cry when I read it.

And I have to say that this questionnaire made my heart hurt a little when I read that I "really like to work on the computer," but I'll take age 18!

With Daddy's help, she got me some stargazer lily bulbs that we were supposed to plant together in large pots that were part of my gift, but since she was feeling icky, Daddy planted them.  Hopefully we'll have growing lilies soon!

And here are my Mother's Day cupcakes from Society Bakery!  Yes, two were already gone by the time I thought to take the picture.

Chrysalid Update

All five "callepittars" have turned into chrysalids, have been moved into the butterfly house, hung over the kitchen table, and are being very closely observed!

Potted Garden Update

They're actually growing!  The plants are actually growing and not dead yet!  No veggies or fruit on them yet, but they are going in the right direction.  :)

(Cherry Tomato plant and Red Bell Pepper plant)

(Zucchini plant and Strawberry plant)

Callepittar update

So far so good!  They have all attached themselves to the lid of their container and are turning into Chyrsalids.  Pretty soon we'll transfer them to the butterfly house!
