Daddy's Birthday

Since Daddy's birthday fell on a Thursday (a "mommy-monkey day"), Kendall and I were able to surprise him at work with some cookies and ice cream after swim class.  She is always quite the hit in Daddy's office!  

Instead of going out to lunch, however, Daddy wanted to go to Golf Galaxy to try out (for the 4th time) the putter he wanted for his birthday so we joined him there but didn't stay long since "someone" was making it a bit difficult to try out putters.  The most unfortunate part of this little excursion is that we pass Golf Galaxy on the way to school and Kendall very enthusiastically requests to go back every time we drive by.

The cake pictured below officially took about 24 hours to make, including the baking of both parts, cooling, frosting and decorating.  It made me realize that I do not inherently possess the patience necessary for cake decorating.  Or baking, but we knew that already.  It turned out pretty well and I almost cried when we cut into it!  

In addition to the putter, that he purchased himself and for which he left the receipt on the bathroom counter for reimbursement, we got Daddy some new slippers (that didn't fit Daddy but fit Kendall fairly well), new cologne (that has yet to show up because it's back ordered), and new undershirts (yes, underwear) for his birthday.  

Can't forget the other birthday boy of the house!  4 years ago on October 11, we officially adopted Ralphie so the dogs all got special cookies with their dinner (no, I did not make those as my culinary capacity had already been stretched to the outer limits earlier in the day).
