Kendall and I finally made it to the State Fair ... on the last Friday, which made it a bit crowded, but we had a great time. We went with our favorite neighbors, Liam and Margaret, and their mom, Stacy (my weekly Friday night wine date!) The twins are a year older than Kendall and absolutely wonderful for her to have in her life. And having a good friend 2 doors down has been absolutely wonderful for me!
Somehow we wound up in the "wine garden" while trying to find the petting zoo. Must've just sucked me in! But no, we did not have any wine.
I think this is the same mama camel from last year. Pretty sure she remembered us.
Not sure why she was crying here but this WOULD have been a cute picture.
Kendall LOVED the rides last year but this year it took a while to get her on one. She finally agreed to ride this one WITH me (somehow they seemed smaller than last year ... or maybe I'm just bigger).
But then she found her inner thrill-seeker and rode several more rides, thankfully without me. I found that the "thrill" they gave me was not worth the almost $5 it cost me to go on them with her.
The love of corny dogs (Fletcher's of course) was immediately rekindled.
And the distaste for cotton candy was also back. But not until after she managed to get herself good and sticky ... and cotton candy all in her hair.
Wouldn't be a state fair without the appropriate amount of junk food!
And a carousel ride with Mommy!
Cheers from the mommies! :)
