Snow Days #'s 4 and 5 - REAL SNOW!!!

So by Day #4 being stuck inside (other than a very short trip outside to discover that subfreezing temps are not pleasant), this is what my child had resorted to doing.

And some rather bad habits were formed due to my own selfish self-preservation efforts (such as being allowed to eat our meals in front of the television sitting on the coffee table).

But LOOK carefully out the back window!
We finally got REAL SNOW!!! That we can PLAY in! It was beautiful. Even Daddy stayed home and "worked" from home. The oh-so-reliable DFW meteorologists predicted a "light dusting." We got a good 6 inches. (This picture was taken before the last 3 or so inches fell) Their excuse was "Well, we never have to predict snow so we don't know how!" Ummm, okaayyy ....

Before lunchtime, Kendall and I bundled up (again) and went to play in the snow. I will try to make a mental note to refrain from promising a snowman until I make sure the snow is at least slightly wet. This snow was bone dry and snow balls weren't even a possibility. Kendall was very upset. But she did busy herself with "digging" in our driveway. Need to get her a kid sized shovel and put her to work!

We did make a snowman out of my home-made play dough!

By the next day, the snow had melted enough that (a) Nana could get to our house to play (YAY!) and (b) a snowman could be assembled ... rather a snowMICKEY could be assembled!

Nana also taught Kendall how to make a snow angel. She wasn't a fan of this process, but she did create a cute angel!
As I finish typing up this post, the snow angel has melted, and Snow Mickey is a 4 inch ghost of his former self. But never fear ... our fantabulous weather "professionals" here have predicted another "light dusting" tomorrow night. My money's on a foot.
