Weekend at the pool

This past Friday AND Saturday night spent at the neighborhood pool almost made me want to fork out the $400 for a summer membership.  Almost.  We'll settle for being guests this year but maybe next year!  We were there for about 5 hours each evening and it was a blast for both of us.  Had pizza delivered one night and had a cookout the next night.  On Friday night, in a heroic effort not to leave at the planned departure time of 7:00, Kendall decided to take her swim test so she can go in the deep end and off the diving board.  She had to swim across the pool and back unassisted, tread water for a minute, and dive down to get something off the bottom of the deep end.  She had at least 10 people cheering her on and passed!  Thankfully, another sweet mom offered to keep her company for the water treading portion of the test and that helped her a lot.  It had crossed my mind but I decided against it for fear I might drown for fear I might cause her to fail the test.  Needless to say, after she passed her test she took me up on my offer to stay "as late as she wanted if she passed."  We left at 9:45 when the pool closed!
