This year's carnival had an Olympic theme so it started with a parade of grades and "torch lighting" ceremony.
This picture was taken shortly before I spontaneously combusted due to extreme heat.
There was nail painting.
Face painting.
Hair painting. OMG the hair painting ...
Ride riding.
Slurpee sipping.
A mock ER where the kids could get real casts.
And extreme jumping!
There were also a lot of melting and complaining parents who were having what seems like annual and fruitless discussions about why this event isn't scheduled for sometime when the temperatures are below 100 degrees. Additionally, every year there is a recurring Groundhog Day-esque discussion regarding the painful lack of alcohol available for the parents at Carnival and the fact that the presence of such provisions at this event would probably negate the necessity of the endowment fund. At any rate, the kids had a great time. The parents bonded over heat stroke and in the end rejoiced that it was over for another year!
